Train to be a Social Worker
We offer a degree in Social Work which can be taken full-time over three years or part-time over four.

Professional Development for qualified Social Workers
Develop in-depth knowledge and skills associated with a particular area of specialist social work practice. We offer flexible Post-Qualifying Specialist Awards in Social Work accredited by the General Social Care Council.

MSc Comparative Safeguarding Studies
A Masters course aimed at all professionals who work with children or vulnerable adults. It helps in the understanding of legal and statutory requirements for this important area as well as allowing you to develop leadership skills and the ability to work on a multi-professional and multi-agency basis to safeguard adults and children.
Get into Social Work research
Our new Centre for Social Justice Research is concerned with fairness and equity in society, exploring major issues such as poverty, exclusion, health inequalities and human rights. We collaborate with a wide range of individuals and organisations, conducting research that will have a positive impact at local, national and international levels.
Our research staff have varied interests and expertise in areas such as social epidemiology, sociology, public health, social policy, social work, psychology, historical archaeology, management, health economics and statistics.
